Auntie Jayne lines up with some famous friends including Debbie Jordan, Donna Ambrose, Sharon Day, Tracy Gibb and cover girl for this 1990 February issue of Escort Millie Minchen.

These images are the outtakes never used in the magazine with Pat holding centre stage. Pat was a long standing regular model for Escort through the 1980′s beginning in Escort volume 1 number 7 as the new agony aunt helping readers who wrote in with their sexual problems.

When Auntie Jayne appeared in the magazine she was generally surrounded by 4 of her friends whose common feature was big natural tits.

Nick Gorgol was the lensman for the shoot entitled ‘Auntie and the big 5′ when actually there were 6 girls plus Pat.

Inside the magazine on page 10 and 11 Nev Player used some outtake shots and the shot of the girl with the smiling lips and pipe on her body but no face belongs to Donna Ambrose, who is still modeling today.

I was cataloging some slides the other day for Joanie Allum’s website and came across a folder they’d sent to me with some behind the scenes shots. In this shot John is setting up a top light for Joanie as they prepare to shoot the lovely Chrissy Lyons.

Its an interesting shot this, because Chrissy didn’t do that many sets so to have a piccy of her not posing is a nice little gem.

Now, if like me you enjoyed the pictures and the story that the so called hubby has sent in to Escort to get his wife’s pix printed for all to see, but knew all along that they were all made up; think again!

Over the last 2 years we’ve been emptying the warehouses of Paul Raymond and believe me its a big job laced with plenty of surprises.

Today, as I’m breaking a box I notice a sticker on the front of the magazine with the photographers details (this cover was by Nick Gurgul), the price paid for the shoot and the models real name.

Now, as it turns out Nick Gurgul is really called Nick Gurgul which I always believed to be a made up name. The prices for the photo shoots vary widely and I’ll report on those on a later post because what I want to do here is, taking this issue of Escort from May 95 run through those readers wives with the letters and photos.

The letters for this issue start on page 8, which is really page 3 but Escort always counted the fold out cover as separate pages so 3 is 8.

Anyway, Mr M and his wife Sarah, really exist and they did live in Bedford. The magazine story tells us how Mr M’s wife had a 3 some with John, the star of their local pub football team. The pub’s listed in the Bedford area but Escort wisely left out the name.

Andy and his wife Clare where from Eastbourne and the the accountancy dept of PRP sent them a cheque for £50.

On the same page is Karen’s story and although I can read the unedited version she must have made this up anyway, she got a whopping £125.

On page 16 of this issue is an interview entitled The Bonk Job, however this it turns out was written by a professional writer named Roy Dunn who got £300 for his trouble. Actually, £300 for a story in 1995 is a bloody good days work as of writing that’s 16 years ago. The mag had to pay extra for the images that go along with the story, with the tog being Mr Gurgul – again!

The DIY set in this months issue is made up and it wasn’t sent in by Tim and his girlfriend Sarah, it was shot by my old mate Paul Rivers who has a studio just down the road from my office. I know that because the accounts department have listed him as receiving a cheque for £150 but to make amends Escort did use the real name for the girl as they list that in their accounting notes.

The cartoon on page 22 was by Peter Nutley and to be honest its the first time I’ve ever noticed that Escort did cartoons. The interesting thing is though that the toon depicts a barber shaving the word ‘twat’ into the back of a customers head and it got me thinking if people had started doing that in real life back in 95 or did Escort by publishing this cartoon actually start a trend?

The amateur girl on page 28 never got paid and if she’s reading this post then I can tell you that they could not read your name and address, all they know is that you weren’t from West London but Poland.

And so it goes on. Some other notables are that Agnes from Peterborogh is really Mary from Poland. I’ll be Googling mapping Chrisie from Manchester as she’s just down the road and Jenny the girl who Escort said had sent in a home video, really did, got paid £100 and guess who filmed her – Gurgul!

UK top shelf magazines 1992

I was going through some magazines the other day and happened to notice that two of the magazines I’d got in my hand were from April 1992 so I thought – I wonder what else was on the top shelf for that same month, 19 years ago.

I suppose the reason why it came to mind is because one of the mags that got me thinking this was the Escort volume 12 number 4 with a Linda Leigh front cover. I can remember that cover catching my eye in a Warrington newsagents.

Anyway. The Escort cover as mentioned is Linda Leigh, the Mayfair is Nicole Simmonds, Club is Kim Wetherby and Melanie Woods, Men Only is Debbie Jackson,  Mens World (which at the time was only in its fourth year) was Kirsten Imrie, Knave was Marilyn Peters, Fiesta was a second helping of Kim and the Razzle was Tina Moore.

Every cover girl from that top shelf back then you thought you knew and everyone of them was a glamour model and not like todays plastic blondes that seem to get every cover.

It’ll come as no surprise that magazines from 92 are massive movers at jobby we sell loads of them and I suppose when I looked at this top shelf I can see why.

Well I’ve not actually bought Paul Raymond what I’ve bought is the contents of their warehouses in France, London and the United States. When the new owners of PRP took over after the sad death of Paul Raymond they decided that the skin business was not for them so sold off the magazine titles.

However, the new owners had no use for the back stock so Jobbydealer bid for it and won! Yiphee

Along with the magazines we got the the printers proof copies, readers letters and polaroids and a whole host of really interesting stuff. I’m not sure if they wanted me to empty the office drawers but I thought they’d only skip it.

Anyway. So far we’ve had delivered around 10,000 mags with a whole load more to come. In magazine terms this is a treasure trove of brilliant stuff.

This was my magazine of choice when I was a lad and boy do I remember this cover of Carol Heaps. The foldout cover has Carol Inside pulling her panties to the side this is an absolute cracker of a set. In my opinion Escort had the best series of covers and they started to get it right at volume 7 but by volume 8 every one was a winner and they carried on right through until the end of volume 13.

Take a look through the Escort covers from around 1986 and onwards and just look how many get that girl next door look bang on.

We’ve just took in a massive collection of Model Directory which includes some very early issues. The magazine began as Model Directory, then changed its name to Model Directory Just Girls, then dropped the title Model Directory and just became known as Just Girls.

The magazine is a Paul Raymond title, or should I say was at birth, as Paul Raymond have now sold the titles and left the business.

As well as searching through the site by title you can now search through it by the models name. Not only does this let you concentrate on the girls you enjoy looking at but it also contains other titles that you cannot normally see.

If you visited the site a couple of days ago you may have noticed that it went out of action for 24 hours, well the model list was the reason why.

This shot of Debbie from volume 8 number 6 encapsulates the method that the adult togs had in caputring normal birds in naughty poses.

At this stage Escort still had a fold out cover which meant that when you looked at Debbie you could also get a snapshot of 3 thumbnails of who was inside. Forgetting for the moment that the centre thumbnail was Donna Ambrose if you look at the bottom pic of the girl in the black dress you need to see the pix of her in the magazine with her bent over in a black stretch dress with all her pubes hanging out from each side of her panty line, this is boner heaven.
